It's not often a trainer will come to your house and work with your dog there. But it is so nice to be able to work on the behaviors where they happen instead of taking them somewhere.
I would definitely recommend Kara to anyone wanting training done. She works with the dog while she is there but also assigns homework to continue once she leaves. She is patient and comes up with ideas I would have never thought of to help solve a problem.
Kara came knowing that working with my border collie could be a disaster. Willow is exceedingly nervous of strangers in the house, to the point where a bite could happen if things went wrong. We worked on keeping Willow in the kennel until she was in the house and we allowed Willow to come out.
Kara had the patience to allow me to reset Willow multiple times and even to do some cuddles when Willow was relaxed enough to approach. By the end Willow was doing excellent staying in kennel and going to Kara for treats and love. Will definitely be having her out again to work on more "outside" behaviors once the weather is nicer and we have progressed on what we need to work in right now!

Kara was wonderful to work with. We chose to do the 4 day obedience camp with our 4 year old Australian Shepherd. We had issues with him running out the door on our youngest child and pulling when the kids would take him out. Kara came to our home and worked with our 3 dogs and now we can eat without the dogs bugging us at the table. I can hand out treats to my dogs and the dogs I watch without our big puppy trying to eat everyone's treats. I'm also able to feed them and have them wait till the bowls are on the floor. We still have things to work on but they are like a whole new pack! I will highly recommend Kara to anyone wanting a better behaved dog. I've trained other training classes but they just didn't seem to work because they decided where the training happens and did it as a class but our dogs didn't like that. Kara is amazing. We adopted a deaf dog and needed help with training how to communicate with her working with a vibration collar. We needed just 3 training sessions and Fancy is doing great! I now feel confident in allowing our dog to be off leash outside and still know that I can get her attention to look for me and come back with her collar. Kara will work with you and your dog and then give you specific instruction on what to work on between sessions. It was way easier than what I expected. Kara exceeded all expectations.
